Not Just Work

We're very honored to be a part of our uber talented friends over at Derk's Works blog series, "Not Just Work", capturing those who truly have passion for what they do. We hung out one night, had some drinks, and talked All Together Now and
why we love planning and designing (especially in Columbus!). This city is mighty and full of innovative, diverse, and artistic folks that make Columbus a thriving place for passions to live. It's home to so many small businesses lead by inspiring entrepreneurs redefining standards in both style and taste and we're all the more excited for Make My Day, a wedding and event marketplace, showcasing and connecting these small businesses and artists with likeminded partiers in the city. Did we mention Derk's Works will be there?!

Afternoon (Crafting) Delight

I own a stupid amount of crafting junk. I mean, it's awesome, but it takes up tons of space in the office and Roam About Mike is usually scowling at me after I have blown up my craft room the office after another crafting binge. While making resolutions this year, I have decided to use up the crafting supplies that I currently have instead of buying more. Also, I love sending handwritten notes and letters, so having an afternoon stationery party for one was inevitable.

What I used:
- Kraft and white paper card stock (Michael's)
- Glitter card stock and hole punch (Archiver's)
- Miscellaneous tags (On Paper)
- Stamp kit (Martha Effing Stewart)
- Gold, white and black stamping ink

Congratulations cards filled with glitter confetti. When you are congratulating someone, it's not complete unless you are throwing confetti in their face.

I used a large circle sponge to add some gold shimmer.

These cards were given to me a long time ago, I just stamped over the snowman design. You can also do this with vintage postcards, flashcards, book pages, etc.

So, dig out your crafting junk and use your creativity to make do with what you already own. Then, next year, we can get all new supplies. Happy creating!

Love, Marti

CivitasNow Holiday Party

We had such a great time working with the gentleman of CivitasNow planning their first holiday party. It was a blistery cold night, but it was toasty warm inside Due Amici where guests munched on warm, artisan pizzas while sipping boozey drinks and delicious beer and wine. 'It's a Wonderful Life' played while people chatted about their holiday plans and traditions. Since CivitasNow is a hip new ad agency, they wanted a little flare of 'Mad Men' (candy cigarettes and vintage matchbooks) and classic holiday decor. Music to our ears.

Schmidt, Taylor and Barnes of CivitasNow

Did we mention that the CivitasNow gents might be the best dressed in the city?

'Til next year's holiday gathering.

Love, Lindsay + Marti
